Who is a good candidate for a HydraFacial?
Good candidates for a HydraFacial in Toronto want a visible refresh without peeling. HydraFacial describes the treatment as suitable for nearly all skin types.
Good fit:
Clogged pores: extractions clear debris that a home routine misses.
Dehydrated skin: nourishing serums deliver hyaluronic acid, peptides and antioxidants.
Sensitive skin: usually suitable once the skin check rules out a flare.
Wait or choose another treatment if:
Peel, laser, microneedling, waxing or sunburn in the last 7 days: book once the week has passed.
Retinol, tretinoin or acid exfoliants: stop using them 48 hours before your appointment, as our HydraFacial pre-care instructions explain.
Isotretinoin, pregnancy or recent injectables: tell us before you book.
Melasma, deep pigmentation or indented acne scars as the main goal: a peel, microneedling or laser treatment will do more.
How does a HydraFacial work?
A HydraFacial uses a spiral suction tip that cleanses, exfoliates, extracts and infuses serums in one pass. This is the delivery system HydraFacial calls Vortex-Fusion. The three tiers share those core steps, from lifting dead skin cells to hydration, and differ in what each one adds.
Tier | Booster serum | LED light therapy | Lymphatic drainage | Pick it when |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Signature | No | No | No | You want a clean, hydrated reset |
Deluxe | Yes | Yes | No | One concern needs targeting |
Platinum | Yes | Yes | Yes | Puffiness, congestion or a big event |
Boosters target dehydration, congestion, uneven tone, texture, redness or signs of aging. The HydraFacial Syndeo and Elite systems hold Health Canada licence #79154 (Class 2), listed under Microdermabrasion Systems in the Medical Devices Active Licence Listing.
What happens at your HydraFacial appointment?
Each HydraFacial treatment has four stages, and we confirm the tier at the first one.
Skin check: we review your concerns, recent treatments and products, then choose the tier and booster.
Core steps: the device cleanses and exfoliates, applies a gentle peel, extracts and hydrates.
Tier extras: a booster and LED for the Deluxe, plus lymphatic drainage for the Platinum.
Plan: we give aftercare advice and suggest when to book your next visit.
Downtime and aftercare
The treatment has little to no downtime, so most clients return to their day straight away.
Right after: mild pinkness can follow extractions.
Rest of the day: avoid makeup where possible.
Until the next day: skip intense exercise, hot yoga, steam rooms and saunas.
Every day: use broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher when the UV Index reaches 3, as Health Canada recommends.
How many HydraFacial sessions will you need?
One treatment gives a same-day refresh. Noticeable results in pores and texture come from regular sessions. HydraFacial’s own guidance suggests about once a month, or every two to three months for some clients.
Maintenance: every 4–6 weeks, which matches the Hydra membership schedule.
Acne-prone skin: a short series every 2–3 weeks, then sessions spaced further apart.
Events: about one week before for the clearest skin, or two to three days before for a pre-event glow top-up.
