Chemical Peels in Midtown and North York, Toronto
Light to Strong Skin Peels

By Fanny Garnier, founder and master aesthetician · Updated October 2026
Chemical peels at our North York, Toronto clinic treat dull tone, sun spots, acne marks and early fine lines with an acid solution that lifts dead skin cells. La Beauty Boutique gives you a clear choice between two tracks: a peel facial with no visible peeling, or a stronger peel that makes your skin visibly shed.
Chemical peels at a glance
Appointment time: 30, 75 or 90 minutes, depending on the peel.
Price: from $185 (see the price table below).
Best for: dark spots, uneven skin tone, acne marks, mild acne scars, rough texture.
Downtime: none with the peel facial; visible peeling for several days after The Perfect Derma Peel.
Results: brighter, smoother skin after one peel and a more even tone over a series.
Sessions: usually 3 to 5 light peels, 2 to 5 weeks apart.
Not today if: you have a cold sore, a sunburn or a fresh tan.
Peel Facial With No Visible Peeling
This full facial pairs a light-to-medium chemical peel with every step of a treatment facial: cleansing, exfoliation, extractions for blackheads and milia, a high-frequency tool, cooling globes, a customized mask and LED light therapy with a massage. The gentle peel targets dead skin cells and uneven skin tone without visible shedding, so most clients go back to their day straight after.
Just a Peel, Added to a Facial
Already booked for another facial? Just a Peel adds a customized chemical peel to that appointment without repeating the facial steps. Together, we choose a peel that makes your skin shed or one that does not, depending on your plans for the week. It is a practical way to target breakouts, dark spots, early lines, dull skin or uneven texture.
The Perfect Derma Peel for Visible Peeling
The Perfect Derma Peel is the stronger of our two tracks, and your skin will visibly peel. It targets fine lines, pigmentation and acne scars as the skin sheds over the following days. Every Perfect Derma Peel comes with a home-care kit that includes SPF, because freshly peeled skin needs daily sun protection until it heals.
Who Is a Good Candidate for a Chemical Peel?
Most adults with surface skin concerns, such as dullness, sun damage, acne marks or early wrinkles, are good candidates for a chemical peel.
Good fit:
Oily skin and acne-prone skin: a peel clears dead cells and excess oil from pores.
Age spots, sun damage and melasma: a series can fade hyperpigmentation and improve the appearance of uneven tone.
Early signs of aging: peels treat fine lines around the eyes and mouth, where the AAD says they work especially well.
Rough or uneven texture: the skin’s texture feels smoother once the top layers shed.
Deeper skin tones: peels are suitable with extra care. The AAD advises choosing a provider experienced with darker skin, because these skin tones have a higher risk of lasting pigment changes.
Wait or choose another treatment if:
Cold sores, sunburn or a fresh tan: wait until the skin has healed or the tan has faded.
Current or past isotretinoin use, or pregnancy: tell us before booking.
Sagging skin or deep scars: peels cannot correct either, so radio frequency skin tightening or microneedling is a better fit.
Persistent redness: a laser treatment such as Aerolase is usually the better choice.
How Do Chemical Peels Work?
Chemical peels work through a chemical solution that loosens dead skin cells in the top layers, so cell regeneration speeds up and new skin reaches the surface. Stronger peels reach deeper layers and can also stimulate collagen production. Mayo Clinic describes mild peels made with an alpha hydroxy acid, such as glycolic acid, or with salicylic acid, and medium peels made with trichloroacetic acid (TCA).
Canada limits the strength of acids in over-the-counter products. Health Canada’s Cosmetic Ingredient Hotlist raised the consumer limit for AHA peels and products from 10% to 18% in May 2024; a separate limit for professional use has applied since April 2014.
What Happens During a Chemical Peel Appointment?
A chemical peel appointment takes 30 to 90 minutes and follows four steps.
Skin assessment: we check your skin type, skin concerns, recent treatments and home-care routine, then choose the peel strength for your individual needs.
Prep: we cleanse and exfoliate the skin; the peel facial also includes extractions.
Peel: we apply the solution, and most clients feel mild tingling or warmth for a few minutes.
Finish: the peel facial ends with high-frequency treatment, cooling globes, a mask and LED light therapy; after The Perfect Derma Peel, you leave with your home-care kit.
Downtime and Aftercare After a Peel
Recovery time depends on peel depth: the peel facial has minimal downtime, while deeper peels bring redness and peeling, and some clients have swelling. The healing times below are from the American Academy of Dermatology.
Peel depth | Healing time | Sun rule | At our clinic |
|---|---|---|---|
Light (superficial peeling) | 1 to 7 days | Daily sunscreen once healed | Yes |
Medium | 7 to 14 days; some clients have swelling | Total sun avoidance until healed | Light to medium strengths |
Deep | 14 to 21 days | Avoid sun for 3 to 6 months | Not offered (medical procedure) |
Aftercare for the first week:
Let it shed: picking at flaking skin can leave marks or mild scarring.
Keep it simple: use a mild cleanser and a moisturizer if your skin feels tight or dry; pause scrubs, retinoids and acids.
Protect it: wear broad-spectrum sunscreen, SPF 30 or higher, every day.
Follow-up care: contact us if you notice blistering, spreading irritation or signs of infection.
Timing matters in Toronto. Environment and Climate Change Canada reports that southern Ontario has the country’s highest UV Index readings, with peak risk from April to September, so we recommend the visible-peel track between October and March.
How Many Chemical Peel Sessions Will You Need?
Most clients need a series of mild peels: the AAD suggests 3 to 5 light peels, spaced 2 to 5 weeks apart. Results are not permanent because skin keeps aging and new sun damage builds up. Occasional maintenance peels help keep the result.
How Much Does a Chemical Peel Cost in North York?
A chemical peel costs $185 to $400 at our clinic, depending on the track and what the treatment includes.

Chemical Peel vs HydraFacial and Microdermabrasion
A chemical peel exfoliates with acid and does more for pigmentation and acne marks, while HydraFacial and microdermabrasion refresh the surface without peeling.
Treatment | How it exfoliates | Visible peeling | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
Chemical peel | Acid solution | Optional, by track | Pigmentation, acne marks, fine lines |
HydraFacial | Device with a mild peel step | No | Hydration, congested pores |
Microdermabrasion | Device that buffs the surface | No | Dull complexion, rough texture |

Chemical Peel FAQs
At our clinic, a peel is $185 as an add-on to another facial and $400 for a full peel facial or The Perfect Derma Peel. A skin consultation is $30 if you are unsure which one suits you.
Mayo Clinic lists redness, infection, changes in skin color and, rarely, scarring. Darker patches (hyperpigmentation) are more common after superficial peels, especially in brown or Black skin, and cold sores can flare. Matching the peel strength to your skin makes these complications less likely.
Yes, a chemical peel loosens blackheads and excess oil and helps prevent new ones, but one peel rarely clears them all. Our peel facial includes manual extractions, so softened blackheads are removed in the same visit.
A chemical peel is worth it for fine lines and other concerns in the top layers of skin, such as dullness and some acne marks, but not for deep wrinkles. Skin often looks brighter after one peel, and a series leads to a clearer complexion and more radiant skin.
The AAD treats chemical peels as an established cosmetic procedure and warns against strong peels without supervision. Our peels are performed by our skin team, including Fanny Garnier and skin expert Anokhi, who is trained in chemical peels. Any concern that needs a diagnosis goes to a physician first.
